Aleksandra Czarnocka and Maxime Snaterse met in Brussels, where they both studied at the Royal Conservatory. This is where their cello-piano duo was born, the beginning of a successful musical collaboration between the Polish cellist and Dutch pianist. Since then they have given concerts on various stages in Belgium and the Netherlands, such as the MIM in Brussels.
Aleksandra Czarnocka graduated from the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz in a cello class with Prof. Dominik Połoński and Prof. Tomasz Daroch. In 2020 she started cello studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Prof. Viviane Spanoghe. She recently obtained her master’s degree there with great distinction for her final achievements. She perfected her cello playing under the watchful eye of renowned musicians such as Prof. Matts Lidstrom, Prof. Michael Flaksman, Prof. Jeroen Reuling, Prof. Arto Noras and Prof. Alexander Gebert. She also learned from members of Camerata Quartet, Quatuor Danel and Prazak Quartet. Aleksandra expresses her love for music by participating in projects of various genres and styles. She regularly collaborates with different ensembles and orchestras and performs both solo and as a chamber musician.
Maxime Snaterse is a versatile performer with a dynamic concert life: giving solo recitals, performing as a soloist with orchestra and playing with various chamber music ensembles. Maxime studied with Prof. Aleksandar Madžar at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and with Prof. Frank van de Laar at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle. She graduated from both conservatories with the highest distinction for her bachelor and master studies. She has played in halls including Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall London, Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, and on many other stages. She was a prize winner at several competitions and followed masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Boris Berman and Lars Vogt. Maxime is currently accompanist of the flute class at LUCA School of Arts and piano teacher at the Conservatory of Mechelen.
